Personal update, June

Friday 1 July 2011|Personal

Dear Family and friends,

Today the outreach time in Fargo has come to an end. The past three months here we have so much become a part of the community here that it is becoming difficult to say goodbye once again. However, good news is, we know that we will be seeing some of them again in the future.

The last week we spent on teaching various materials to the local churches. Jackson and Zalmai taught on “how to start a house fellowship” and I taught on “effectively helping others” which is a counseling training. It was a wonderful way to finish our outreach time here.

Highlight for me this month was my birthday!! The whole day was filled by surprises that my dear husband had planned for me. Early in the morning I was woken up with presents, including a gift from the baby . In the office some friends had gathered to surprise me for lunch and a cake was baked with my name on it. The end of the day I was able to enjoy a wonderful and romantic dinner with my husband at Olive Garden (I love Italian food!!). I am very excited for my next birthday…

Now we are preparing ourselves to go on a one week break where we hope to REST. We are going to be staying with friends in a beautiful environment surrounded by lake and forest. After this we will be travelling back to Kona for the next phase in our preparation for Nigeria. For the both of us this will be a time of gaining a lot of practical experience with campus life which we are very much looking forward to.

The pregnancy is progressing well only 18 more weeks to go! My stomach is growing bigger and the baby is really moving a lot and I am able to feel that! It is so special to imagine how this little life has grown so much these past few weeks and how in only 4 more months we will be holding him/her in our arms. We feel privileged and excited to become parents.

We really appreciate all your support in prayers, e-mails and finances and look forward to sending you another update soon.

Love and blessings,

Jackson & Anneke
